Kudumbashree, the State Poverty Eradication Mission of the Government of Kerala, is a National Resource Organisation (NRO) for National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Government of India. In its capacity as NRO, Kudumbashree provides technical and implementation support to the State Rural Livelihood Missions for the following programmes of the Ministry of Rural Development:
- Universalisation of PRI-CBO Convergence methodology
- Integration of Village Prosperity Resilience Plans (VPRP) with Gram Panchayat Development Pans
- Promotion of entrepreneurship among rural communities through trained community resources under the non-farm sector
Kudumbashree NRO presently works with 25 states and a union territory using an approach wherein experienced community resource persons work with professionals in providing support to SRLMs.

Chief Operating Officer – Job Description
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for the overall implementation of the programmes of Kudumbashree NRO. Reporting to the Executive Director of Kudumbashree, the responsibilities of the COO include the following.
- Administration, budgeting, annual action plans, financial management, and personnel management of Kudumbashree NRO.
- Selection, training, and deployment of professionals and community resource persons.
- Timely implementation of programme components across states and union territories.
- Development of new programme areas as per the vision and requirements of NRLM and Kudumbashree.
- Interfacing with NRLM and MoRD for programme related matters
- Interfacing and relationship building with SRLMs
- Stakeholder management
- Developing institutional collaborations and ensuring timely availability of expert resources.
- Ensuring timely design and development of training programmes and preparation of training modules
- Maintaining strong relationships with Kudumbashree community network and District Missions
- Reporting to Executive Director, Kudumbashree State Mission and NRLM.
- Extensive travel to partner states for implementation.
Qualification and Experience
- A master’s degree in management, rural management, development management, social sciences, social work, development studies, public policy or related disciplines from institutes of national repute such as IIMs, IRMA, TISS, APU, and IITs.
- Fifteen years of experience, of which at least five years should be with an SRLM, NRLM, NRO, or a reputed organisation working with Self Help Groups and their federations, and at least five years in a senior management/leadership position.
- First hand understanding of programmes in rural development, poverty alleviation, women Self-Help Groups, and PRI-CBO Convergence.
- A least five years of experience in a project promoted by the Government of India or any of the State governments or union territories.
- First-hand experience in implementation of large-scale state or national level projects.
- Excellent written and spoken skills in English; fluency in Hindi will be an advantage.
Terms of appointment
Appointment shall be on annual contract basis. The contract may be renewed annually subject to review of performance of the incumbent and continuation of Kudumbashree-NRO Project.
Remuneration
The remuneration for the position would be Rs 1.5 to 1.75 lakh per month approximately, consolidated. Exact remuneration will be fixed according to the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected for the position.

Kudumbashree National Resource Organisation (Kudumbashree NRO) is looking for Interns for a two-month engagement on a special project under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of Kerala. Selected candidates would be trained by Kudumbashree, State Poverty Eradication Mission of the Government of Kerala, which is a National Resource Organisation for the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).
Responsibilities
- Document the best practices from the field and develop process documents from 14 blocks of Kerala.
- Document best identified enterprises models from 14 blocks of Kerala. Support the Knowledge management team at Kudumbashree NRO in video documentation.
- Closely work with the Monitoring and Knowledge management team at Kudumbashree NRO to develop standard documents.

Job Description
Implementation of management information system for the all India roll out of a project under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, with technical support from Kudumbashree National Resource Organisation (NRO). The responsibilities would include drawing up user requirement documents and systems requirement specifications for developing MIS applications, liaising with technical agencies for development and maintenance of applications, facilitating data entry and data validation at multiple levels with defined user access and roles, providing training to stakeholders across various states and union territories in ensuring data entry and updates as required, ensuring data quality and security, analysing data and generating and presenting reports as per the requirements of NRLM, Kudumbashree NRO, and other stakeholders. The position would be in Delhi and require travel across states.
Qualifications and Experience
- B. Tech in any branch/ MCA with first class, or
- MSc Statistics with a post graduate diploma in Computer Applications/Data Management/MIS, or
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences with a first class with an engineering degree at undergraduate level, or additional diplomas in Computer Applications/Data Management/MIS
- Excellent communication skills in Hindi and English; candidates with fluency in Hindi would be given preference

Vacancy_Senior Intern_ Convergence Domain
Kudumbashree National Resource Organisation (Kudumbashree NRO) is looking for Senior Interns for a six-month engagement on a national project under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Selected candidates would be trained by Kudumbashree, State Poverty Eradication Mission of the Government of Kerala, which is a National Resource Organisation for the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM). Candidates, on completion of training would work closely with Kudumbashree NRO supporting a national programme for six months.
Responsibilities
- To function as frontline support personnel for answering queries raised by the States implementing the programme mentioned above, online and over phone.
- To apply a problem-solving approach, responding to the queries as well as escalating those needed to appropriate levels as directed by the Programme Management Unit.
- Closely work with the Programme Management Unit at Kudumbashree NRO and with the National Mission Management Unit of NRLM to generate reports based on the data entered by the States in the MIS applications supporting the programme.
