Background
Kudumbashree over the period has demonstrated the feasibility of promoting a large number of enterprises that have the ability to scale up operations, in terms of employment opportunities and income generating potential. These enterprises function in diverse areas like production, restaurant, retail and rural products distribution across Kerala. Successful models like Café Kudumbashree, Amrutham Nutrimix and Apparel Parks in various districts of the State have proved ample scope for setting up of enterprises having brand value, sustainable income and providing specialised services. Kudumbashree NRO has been working in more than nine states in the area of micro enterprise development through community based support system under Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) & Micro- Enterprise Consultant (MEC) project.
