MSRLS Holds Joint Review Meeting and State-Level Line Department Workshop in Shillong

The Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) conducted a Joint Review Meeting on 20th March 2025, followed by a State-Level Line Department Workshop on 21st March 2025 in Shillong.
The review began with presentations by the State Mission Manager (SMM), highlighting the vision and the progress of project activities. District and block representatives shared their achievements, outlined their plans for completing pending initiatives, and discussed future strategies.
Village Council (VC) and Village Employment Council (VEC) members shared their experiences of working with Village Organizations (VOs) and community cadres through platforms such as the Village Level Coordination Forum (VLCF), MGNREGS, and other convergence initiatives.
The workshop with Line Departments was graced by the presence Director of the Community & Rural Development (C&RD) Department as the Chief Guest. The objective-setting session was led by the SMM, MSRLS. A key highlight of the event was the release of the Meghalaya Milestone Book by the Chief Guest, along with the Assistant Program Manager, the Project Lead of Kudumbashree NRO, and representatives MSRLS.
The session commenced with the SMM outlining the workshop’s objectives. Officials from various Line Departments—including PD DRDAs, BDOs, JRDOs of the C&RD Department, and representatives from Social Welfare, Health & Family Welfare, NECTAR, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Food & Civil Supplies, Horticulture, Meghalaya Electricity Board, NABARD, KVK, and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry—actively participated in focused group discussions (FGDs) to explore avenues for convergence. The departments assured their full support and commitment to collaborative efforts.
Additionally, the Project Lead provided an orientation on SLCC, while the State Project Coordinator (SPC) gave an overview of VPRP and demand plans to all line department representatives. The event also featured experience-sharing sessions, where PD DRDAs and BDOs reflected on their Kerala visit and discussed the activities they aspire to replicate in Meghalaya through the project.
Along with the workshop, the Kudumbashree NRO team visited Mairang Block in Eastern West Khasi Hills, where they interacted with Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Local Resource Persons (LRPs). These discussions provided valuable insights into their experiences and the project’s impact on their lives and communities.
