Micro Enterprise Development (MED)
Micro Enterprise Development (MED) is a component under the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) sub-scheme of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). The MED scheme has the objective to support SHGs and their family member enterprises in the non-farm sector.
The program aims to develop an initial eco-system for entrepreneurship development in the identified blocks and prepare it for the next level of entrepreneurship intervention like SVEP and One Stop Facility (OSF).
Kudumbashree NRO has been supporting SRLMs in the capacity building of cadres, CBOs and non-farm staff on project components and business management.
At a Glance:
- MED is a 18 month project to develop initial ground for enterprises promotion in the block by developing cadres for enterprise promotion, promoting enterprises and provide them finance from the SRLM system and linking them with financial institutions.
- Kudumbashree NRO has supported 2 states in capacity building of cadres and has trained 237 CRPs EP, Trained 2 batches of Non-Farm staff
Key Features:
- Training Module for CRP EP: A training module is designed for training CRPs EP under MED project. Module is of 12 days, consisting of Project orientation, Business Concepts and Business Plan.
- Trained Cadres: Minimum 10 trained CRPs EP are deployed in a block to support enterprises promotion activities.
- Business Support Services: Provision of business support services for enterprises from idea generation to financial linkages and services after enterprises set up for maintaining records to market linkages.
- Handholding Support: Exclusive 6 months supports to enterprise form improvement and growth
